CEO & Co-founder, IQ3SOLAR
Dr Charalambos Anastassiou is CEO and co-founder of IQ3SOLAR and the coordinator for the RIF funded project, IQTHREE that will develop commercial solutions for improving the efficiency of photovoltaic (PV) systems through early fault detection and monitoring. Prior to that he completed a Marie Curie Post-Doctoral Fellowship (H2020-MSCA-IF-2015) and was manager for several Horizon 2020 projects dealing with PV applications. At UCY he has been the innovation manager of the PV lab (part of Electrical and Computer Engineering Department) and was part of the advisory committee setting up the innovation policy of UCY. He has extensive industrial and academic experience both as an individual contributor and manager. He obtained a dual degree in Physics and Electrical Engineering with highest distinction and honours from the University of Iowa, and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. After obtaining his PhD, he joined OmniGuide (OG), a start-up spun from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). As a product manager there he oversaw the development of multi-million-dollar market products from lab bench to the customer. He is the inventor of seven USA patents and has submitted another 12 USA patent applications.
