Nathalie Jaarsma
Ambassador of Netherlands to Cyprus
Nathalie Jaarsma is the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Cyprus since August 2016.
Prior to her tenure in Cyprus, she headed the security and defence policy division at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2008 to 2012 Nathalie was a political counsellor at the Dutch embassy in Washington DC, mainly dealing with non-proliferation and arms control issues. Before working in the security field, Nathalie was the Head of the Economic Department at the Dutch Embassy in Canberra and worked in the area of economic and financial affairs.
She had a ten-year career in organizational change management in various advising and commercial roles before she joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 2001. In those years, she worked in Thailand and in The Netherlands primarily in IT, telecoms and the (petro)chemical industry. Nathalie holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Business University Nijenrode and a Master's degree in Business with a specialization in innovation and change management from Technical University Twente.
